To the clients from ANGIE

Thank you to all of you who filled in the clients satisfaction survey.

There were lots of very good suggestions. most of which I think we already cover in the summer program. Some things like Ten Pin Bowling and art and craft happen at Foundation Street Centre and you can discuss with your key worker if you would rather access a session at Foundation Street instead of Museum Street.

At the end of January an evening out will be organised, possibly a meal and a drink somewhere, please let staff know if you have any suggestions and watch out for notices.

I will keep all the survey forms and will look at them again next time we do a survey.

on tuesday 12th may I had a review with maddy. maddy was nervous but was very good as it was her first review meeting. Last Thursday we talked about different things we told people about our work . phil talked about Papworth. He talked to Brian and Julia. Phil talked about Papworth . hE TALKED ABOUT OUR LESSONS. wE ASKED Questions The good bit was the IT. We voted, it was hard work on aThursday aftrenoon./ We had hot cross buns and mini eggs in the afternoon bresak. I enjoyed myself. I would like to do it again.

A message from Julia of Papworth Empowerment

I really enjoyed the afternoon on Thursday 9th April. I visited the centre with Phil Tatt, Chairman of the User Council, James Dillon and Duncan Greenwood, User Council representatives for Suffolk, Brian Calvert, Manager of User Involvement and David Martin, Director of Strategy and Marketing. We came along after an invitation by the centre to have an afternoon with everyone talking about User Involvement and Empowerment. We heard about what activities are available at the centre and some people spoke about why learning new skills and having a choice of activities is very important to them. This really helped me to understand what people choose to do and learn that helps them in their life

I would like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone for making us all feel welcome and I will be back to visit again soon

user involvment afternoon

On Thusday 9th april 2009 we had same people come down to the Papworth Center at Musecm Street to talk about what the user cancil does and how they work and the clcents at Muscum Street talked abuot what we do here and how good it was.
I found it very usefl and interesting and i liked the powerpoint presenttation very much

we had an opoprtunity to say what we felt about the centre

there wa s a voting presebntation at the end, we found out that people knew more about teh user council amnd the reps

it was agood opportunity and we woudl like to arrange lots more meetings to keep up with what they do.

New Computer Equipment

We have new rollerball mice

New keyboard new software and a web cam.

We set up voting on the white board and typed up interesting questions then had fun with using the voting pads and then saved the questions.

Then people at Papworth had a go at voting the answers to the questions on the white board

Wednesday Day Out

Today we went to the park and had a sit down then went to a building and Mark asked for some foams. Then Phil posted a letter then we went back to Papworth and then I had a meeting with Matt and I read something out of a magazine to him and thought the meeting went really well.

Red Nose Day 2009

Today at Papworth some people dressed up as a character from a musical and some people just wore something red. Sarah Smy made some cakes and brought them in and shared with us and we had to give Sarah some money if we wanted one.

We still had to do our user lessons but it was aright.

Hope we raised lots and lots of money for Red Nose Day because the money will go and help lots and lots and lots of people and make it a better life for them.

If you have any loose change donate it to Red Nose Day as you can still donate some even if Red Nose Day is over.

Just to let you know as from April 24th I will be going out for a walk every Friday night from 4.00 pm to 5.30pm, you are all very welcome to join me, even if you dont usually come in on Fridays.

SPARKLE Valentines night

SPARKLE Valentines nightSuffolk County Council's Aiming High Development Team have organised a sparkling night out for disabled young people, their friends, family and carers. It's being held on the Saturday 21st February 2009 at Trinity Park Events Centre, Ipswich. The evening will feature the ultimate party band - Soul Kitchen along with The Big Disco and Diss High School Soul Band. So why not dust off your party frocks and get your dancing shoes ready for a valentines music night to remember! Tickets cost £10 and must be booked in advance. At the Scrap Store we sort cards, paper and other scrap, then we put it into bundles. It is bought by schools and other organisations to be re-used.

I enjoy working for the scrap store very much.

At Papworth I enjoy doing IT and going Out and About.
I like all the staff who work there. They are all friendly and I like all the Clients who go to Papworth as they are so friendly and nice.
Maddy my key worker and other staff support me a lot and forget about that I am shy and don't talk.

I stayed behind one night on a nights active at Papworth and did cooking with Maddy and Dorothy and Sarah and we made white choc chip cookies. And stayed for the silent sponsor disco. That was really fun.

I enjoyed both the Christmas party's.

Don't think there needs to be anything improved at Papworth I think it is fine as it is.

I am so glad Mum heard about Papworth and that I went there and worked there.
